Sitting in a cold basement on the 12th hour of writing, haven’t seen sunlight today, but this just set my entire face on fire. It’s so interesting to me how closely FaltyDL, New Yorker, adheres to British modes of UK syncopated/funky house, and while as a huge fan of that genre I am not mad, I wonder if it wouldn’t behoove the dudes to gather up all the UKFH practitioners in the city — Cubic Zirconia, Brenmar to a degree, the TURRBOTAX folx (god bless ‘em) occasionally Leif and nem — and get a little NYC stamp going. What would make it so? Lemme listen to a bunch of this in a row and I’ll get back to you. Not out of purism or regionalism, but because it would suck if we missed the boat. I mean Roska has only DJ’d here like two times ever! Anyway, Falty’s an admitted Anglophile, in the dance music sense.
