They’re calling it “Bacardi House.” Or at least DJ Spoko is, cause why not invent your own genre of township funk when you are black and live in a neighborhood called Ghost Town, outside a mostly white city called Pretoria, in the country of South Africa. I know “Spoek” means ghost (as in “Mathambo,” off whose tweets I spotted this vid). Not sure if “Spoko” is of a similar nature but it would follow, since he made his name off releases like Grave Yard Session and Tombs and Graves. Fittingly: on cassette.
