Last night I saw Titica perform at a teeny tiny bar in Brooklyn, in the corner on the floor next to the DJ booth, and it was A DREAM REALIZED. Uproot Andy and I determined it was the first Angolan kuduro performance ever in New York City (holler at me if I’m wrong/yes I’ve seen Buraka but they are from Portugal yall)! And this is gonna be happening more, too, as apparently a dude in Luanda (and not a dude who visits Luanda) is hiring PR in the US to try to spread Angolan music here and hopefully get some folks some dollares. I AM ALL FOR THAT.
